The Naal
The Naal is another popular percussion instruments also used at weddings and celebrations. Both sides emulate the tabla except with the use of masala on the inside of the base skin and a thinner syahi on the treble. Many Indian homes traditionally keep one to play at times of celebration. Very popular within the Qwalli, Bhajan and Kirtan music genre.
The Naal is a rockstar of celebrations. It is meant to be loud, to send our inhibitions into hiding and allow our feet to speak as we dance the night away.
