The Sarangi
The Sarangi is a stringed instrument played mainly in the Punjab or Rajasthan in India. It is popular in these states within the Folk Music genre. It is said to most resemble the sound of the human voice.
When the Sarangi plays, we hear Umrao Jaan reciting her poems accompanied by the late great Ustad Sultan Khan. For us the sound of this beautiful stringed instrument belongs in the courts of the Gods. We encourage you to listen to the maestro Kamal Sabri and join us in heaven.
